Eligibility for Scholarship
- To be considered for the SFS scholarship, a student must be a citizen or
lawful permanent resident of the United States.*
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time at NJIT for the duration of the scholarship.
In addition, a student must be one of the following at the start of the program:
- A full-time BS student within one year of graduation, who plans to apply for the MS in Cybersecurity and Privacy or the MS in IT Administration and Security program.
- A newly admitted full-time MS student in the MS in Cybersecurity and Privacy or the MS in IT Administration and Security program.
- A full-time Computer Science PhD student.
The applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA for undergraduate students and 3.5 GPA for graduate students. The undergraduate students must be in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields such as Information Systems, Mathematical Sciences, and Computer Engineering. The graduate students must be in Computer Science or Information Technology. The applicant must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance and meet all requirements for employment in Federal Service. Students selected for this program will be required to sign a service agreement that outlines the obligation to serve in Federal Government or equivalent position in State or Local government after graduation. Students selected for scholarship support as undergraduates must be entering their senior year of studies. For applicants not already admitted to NJIT, any offer of scholarship will be contingent on admission acceptance to NJIT in one of the disciplines listed above.
